The laser produces a beam of highly concentrated near-infrared light that is absorbed by the skin’s pigment through the hair follicles. The pigment in the hair is destroyed by a fraction of a second and disables future hair growth. Surrounding skin is not damaged. Results are best after 4 to 6 treatments. You must shave the area the night before your treatment. You will also have the option of applying numbing cream (EMLA) to the area prior to your treatment to minimize discomfort.
