ThermaFrax is Renaissance Medical Aesthetics most advanced aesthetic skin care treatment. It combines two advanced technologies to both tighten, and smooth aging skin. The result is a youthful face or body that only ThermaFrax can provide.
Thermage is used to penetrate deep below the skin’s outer layers to stimulate collagen growth and tighten skin. Fraxel is used to create new skin in the upper layers. This combination provides a superior and truly advanced skin care result.
Our skin regenerates itself with ease in our youth, shedding old skin cells from the surface (epidermis) while creating new cells in the middle skin layer (dermis). These new cells grow and mature and are pushed upwards until they too reach the surface and are sloughed off.
As we age, this skin turnover slows down and becomes less efficient. This happens because collagen production is slowing down. Collagen is a workhorse in the body that gives tissues their structure and form. It’s a strong, stringy protein and makes up the main part of our bones, teeth, ligaments (fibers connecting bones), sinews (fibers connecting muscles to bones), and cartilage (a connective tissue in our joints, nose, throat, and other places). It plays a stellar role in making our skin strong, supple, and elastic.
Our skin starts to wrinkle and sag when collagen production slows down. Many people go for collagen injections to make their skin smoother and younger-looking. Others get ablative laser treatments that remove some of both the dermis and the epidermis, which stimulates the collagen into more activity and requires a 2-week recovery. Others avail of non-ablative laser treatments which stimulate collagen by targeting only the dermis, leaving the epidermis cooled and unaffected and requiring a much shorter recovery period.
ThermaFrax has a very short recovery time. This is because ThermaFrax is a combination of two recently developed skin treatments: Fraxel laser treatments and Thermage.
By having two treatment series, one of Fraxel and the other of Thermage, you can achieve dramatic skin improvement in a short period of time. You can have both series simultaneously, and can even have one of each treatment on the same day. The Thermage series lifts your skin while the Fraxel series tightens and firms skin cells. Duration of treatment vary between 30 minutes and 1hour.
This combination of treatments can greatly smooth out the wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead, and near the mouth.
